Juventus are continuing their search for a new goalkeeper and have expanded their shortlist to include several options, with Atalanta keeper Marco Carnesecchi now among the names being considered by the club.
The Bianconeri have struggled in attempts to strengthen the position after failing in their pursuit of Alisson Becker from Liverpool, while negotiations involving Emiliano Martinez from Aston Villa have also proven difficult during the current transfer window.
Juventus Continue Goalkeeper Search
Starting the new season with Michele Di Gregorio as their main option in goal is reportedly not viewed as the ideal solution by the club, and Juventus remain determined to bring in another goalkeeper before the campaign begins.
Carnesecchi is one of the players they admire most, although Atalanta are reluctant to allow him to leave this summer. The Bergamo club have developed a reputation for resisting approaches for their most important players and are once again taking a firm position regarding one of their key squad members.
As reported by Tuttojuve, Atalanta insist the goalkeeper is not currently for sale and believe any club interested in signing him would need to offer around €50 million before discussions could realistically progress.
That valuation is widely viewed as a signal that Atalanta would strongly prefer to keep him for at least another season rather than sanction a transfer during the current market.
Atalanta Stance Could Complicate Negotiations
It remains unclear whether Juventus have now identified Carnesecchi as their preferred target, although their continued interest suggests they are seriously monitoring the situation.
Should the Old Lady decide to prioritise a move for the goalkeeper, talks with Atalanta are expected to follow in the coming weeks. Juventus may hope that prolonged negotiations or pressure from the market could eventually encourage La Dea to lower their asking price and make an agreement more achievable.
For now, however, Atalanta appear determined to retain the goalkeeper, leaving Juventus with a difficult decision as they continue searching for a reliable long-term option between the posts ahead of the new season.
