Jonathan David is one of the players that Juventus are reportedly considering offloading this summer after a difficult season at the club following his arrival in the summer of 2025.
The Canadian striker joined Juventus as a free agent after running down his contract at Lille, where he was regarded as one of the most promising forwards in European football. Expectations were high that he would make an immediate impact in Turin.
However, across two different managerial spells and tactical systems, the forward has struggled to establish himself as a consistent performer, leading Juventus to consider allowing him to leave the club.
Juventus assessing attacking options
Because David arrived on a free transfer, Juventus would still be able to record a significant capital gain should they decide to sell him this summer, which has contributed to their openness to potential offers.
The striker is currently representing Canada at the World Cup, where he has played an important role for his national team. Despite this, his club future remains uncertain, with Juventus prepared to listen to proposals depending on the market.
However, the player himself has played down speculation over his future and has indicated that he expects to remain in Turin.
He said via Sport Mediaset:
“I’ll stay, I have a five-year contract, so as far as I’m concerned, I’m still here.”
He added:
“Obviously I’m always happy when I score, but Juventus and Nazionale are two different realities, with two different systems. As a striker, however, each goal gives you more confidence for the next match. This is my current attitude.”
Uncertain future despite confidence
Despite his public stance, Juventus are continuing to evaluate its attacking options ahead of the new season as they look to build a more effective squad under its current project.
The club’s willingness to consider offers highlights its broader strategy of reassessing recent signings where expectations have not been fully met.
