Marco Carnesecchi is one of several goalkeepers Juventus are monitoring this summer as the Bianconeri look to strengthen that position ahead of the new campaign.
Following the end of last season, Juventus made Alisson Becker their primary goalkeeping target and attempted to convince Liverpool to sell the Brazilian international. However, the Premier League club refused to sanction his departure, forcing Juventus to assess alternative options in the market.
Although Alisson remains a player of interest for the future, Juventus are now focusing on more realistic targets for the current transfer window as Luciano Spalletti continues shaping his squad.
Atalanta determined to keep Carnesecchi
Atalanta are fully aware of Juventus’ admiration for Carnesecchi and have already made their position clear regarding the goalkeeper’s future.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the Bergamo club informed Juventus that the Italian international is not for sale as they attempt to rebuild and maintain stability within their squad following several departures in recent windows.
Atalanta are determined to retain their remaining key players and view Carnesecchi as an important figure in their plans moving forward. The goalkeeper has established himself as the club’s undisputed first choice and remains highly valued internally.
Juventus continue to assess options
Juventus are expected to maintain their interest despite Atalanta’s firm response to their initial enquiry regarding the goalkeeper.
The report adds that the only circumstance in which Atalanta would consider selling Carnesecchi would be if Juventus submitted a record-breaking fee for a goalkeeper, something the Bianconeri may be reluctant to do given their broader transfer priorities this summer.
Carnesecchi is also understood to be happy in Bergamo and has shown little desire to leave the club at this stage of his career.
The 25-year-old remains focused on continuing his development with Atalanta, while Juventus continue evaluating several possible goalkeeping options before deciding on their next move in the transfer market.
