Emiliano Martinez is the goalkeeper that Juventus would love to make their first choice this season, and they have been in talks to add him to their squad in recent weeks.

The Argentinian is regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in the world because of his performances for the Argentinian national team and Aston Villa. He won the Europa League this summer and reached the final of the World Cup within the space of weeks, further strengthening his reputation.

Juventus continue pursuit of Martinez

Since Martinez became the starting goalkeeper for the South Americans, they have won several international trophies, and Juventus believes he would be a major upgrade on their current option in Turin. The Bianconeri see him as a player who can bring experience and quality to their squad.

Michele di Gregorio has been told to find a new club during this transfer window because he is no longer part of Juventus’ plans. The goalkeeper is looking to secure a move and avoid spending the season on the bench.

A departure for Di Gregorio could happen sooner than expected, but Juventus is not making significant progress in their efforts to sign Martinez this summer. The club still needs to find an agreement before they can complete a deal for the Argentinian.

Juventus face Martinez transfer setback

Tuttosport claims that Juventus has not closed the gap between Aston Villa’s demands and what they are willing to offer for Martinez’s signature. This has created distance between the two clubs in recent weeks and has made negotiations more complicated.

The Bianconeri now face an important decision as they consider their next move in the transfer market. They could look at another goalkeeper option or decide to continue with Di Gregorio for this season.

Juventus may also choose to delay signing a top goalkeeper until next summer if they cannot find a suitable agreement during this transfer window. For now, Martinez remains their preferred target, but the club must find a solution if they want to secure his services before the new campaign begins.

  1. Guys, are you all stupid… How can you delay bringing in a goalkeeper of this calibre for such a small difference in valuation. Pay the blasted amount and get on with it. He was outstanding in the World Cup. Do you not see the value or am i missing something.

  2. Aston Villa need to get this crazy situation resolved immediately first he’s staying then he’s going come on Villa you can’t let this drag on your losing out on alternative targets. Make a definitive decision and stick to it .

  3. Villa made it clear a very long time ago he was not for sale, one of 2 things here, Either Juve are a bit silly and keep going back for more rejection, or the Journalists are Silly printing this rubbish again and again. When a board member comes out and says contracted to 2029, and we are not selling I think that’s guidance enough

  4. Your article points out all of the great features that Juve believe that they will be getting from Emi but then says that they don’t want to pay for these!
