Juventus has failed to convince Franck Kessie with their first contract offer to the midfielder to join them as a free agent this summer.

The Bianconeri have been his first choice, and he still leaves the door open to joining them in this window, but they have to meet his demands.

Juve had promised to make an ideal offer to him once they had offloaded some unwanted players from their squad, creating space for them to accommodate his salary.

However, they have still not done enough to create the room required to offer him an ideal contract, as the midfielder rejected their latest offer to join the club.

The Bianconeri will return with another offer for his signature, but the Old Lady is also concerned about their Financial Fair Play position as they look to ensure they do not fall foul of the rules.

Juventus continue Kessie pursuit

Luciano Spalletti wants the player, but he is also aware of the need for them to conduct their business under the right conditions.

The midfielder remains open to a move, but Juventus must first create the necessary space within their squad and finances before they can present an offer that meets his expectations.

The situation has made the departures of unwanted players increasingly important for the Bianconeri, who need to balance their desire to strengthen the squad with their financial obligations.

Spalletti addresses transfer situation

Spalletti said to the club’s official media:

“Our directors are working on it and will keep at it right up to the last minute to finalise the squad. I think they’re in talks with [Franck] Kessie, we’ll have to see if it works out, because the Financial Fair Play restrictions are quite strict for us. Kessie could be a possibility, but without players leaving, it becomes impossible to bring in new ones.”

Spalletti’s comments underline the difficulties Juventus face in completing the deal. While the manager would welcome Kessie, he accepts that departures are necessary before the club can bring in another player.

The Bianconeri are expected to make another attempt to convince Kessie, but their next proposal will need to satisfy both the midfielder and the club’s financial requirements.

With the transfer window approaching its conclusion, Juventus must move quickly if they want to secure Kessie’s signature while he remains available as a free agent.
