Jhon Lucumí has a year remaining on his contract at Bologna, yet the club are unwilling to lower their asking price to facilitate a move to Juventus, according to Tuttojuve.
The Bianconeri are eager to strengthen their squad this summer and view the defender as a player who could improve their back line. Juventus have therefore continued to monitor his situation closely as they prepare for another important transfer window.
Bologna have attempted to persuade Lucumí to sign a new and longer contract, but the defender is reportedly not interested in extending his stay with the club. That leaves this summer as Bologna’s final realistic opportunity to secure a transfer fee for his departure before his current deal expires.
Juventus interest and Bologna’s valuation
Juventus see Lucumí as one of the most important defensive targets available to them in this transfer window and are expected to continue exploring ways to complete a deal.
However, Bologna continue to point towards the €28 million release clause in his contract, and Juventus are reluctant to spend that amount on the defender. The club are instead hoping to negotiate a lower fee that better reflects their valuation of the player.
