Former Juventus defender Mark Iuliano has reflected on the expected departure of Dusan Vlahovic as the Serbian striker prepares to leave the Allianz Stadium this summer following an uncertain final period at the club.
Vlahovic was the focal point of Juventus’ attack for much of his time in Turin, with the Bianconeri consistently placing their faith in him as their leading striker. However, negotiations over a new contract reportedly became increasingly complicated after the forward refused to reduce his wage demands in order to remain with the club.
Contract Situation and Juventus Concerns
Juventus reportedly paid Vlahovic an escalating salary throughout the duration of his contract, with the striker believed to have earned around €1 million per month during the 2025/2026 season.
The club were said to have offered him a new deal worth approximately €6 million per season, although the Serbian rejected the proposal as he pursued a more lucrative agreement elsewhere.
As a result, Vlahovic now appears set to leave Juventus when his current contract expires at the end of this month, despite not yet securing a move where he is guaranteed regular playing time.
Juventus are still believed to hope that he could reconsider and remain in Turin, although uncertainty surrounding his future continues to dominate discussion around the club.
Iuliano Questions Vlahovic’s Leadership
Discussing Vlahovic’s situation at Juve, Iuliano told Tuttosport:
“If he stays on the terms the club dictates is a matter of course, if we have to submit to his demands, it’s better for him to leave… With that money you can get a player from Juve, who makes the difference and who wants to stay. I expect a footballer who has earned Vlahovic’s figures in recent years to be willing to come to meet the club at a difficult time like the one he is in now. The truth is that he has not always been an example for his teammates and, among other things, he has also missed many games due to injury. Juventus needs people who are on the spot and who offer reliability from every point of view. And that, above all, you play with your heart for this shirt. He, honestly, every now and then it seemed to me that he did it more for himself.”
